Statutory Declaration under the RTI Act 2005

Section 4 (1) of (b) of RTI Act 2005 covers the statutory declaration of Dr. Samapti Saha, Principal, Prasannadeb Women’s College (Website www.pdwomenscollege.org). Our College is affiliated to the University of North Bengal, aided by Govt. of West Bengal. As per West Bengal Govt. Memo No. ED- 1964/2017 dt. 22.09.17, the College has constituted an RTI cell with one senior faculty member acting as state public Information officer (SPIO) and another faculty as the appellate authority. The College has a Governing body, IQAC and College Development Committees. It is governed in keeping with the rules and regulations made by University of North Bengal and Govt. of West Bengal from time to time. It also closely follows the directions and regulation of University Grants Commission (UGC) as and when it is required. The College comes under “grant-in-aid” category requiring financial transactions are audited by the empanelled auditors recommended by the Director of Public Instruction, Education Directorate, Govt. of West Bengal. Internal audits are also done on a regular basis. The College has different cells/Committees to enforce disciplinary codes in the campus. All the cells or committees of the college are under statutory bodies. The applications under the RTI Act along with a non-Judicial postal stamp for Rs. 100 are to be obtained in favour of Principal, for effective execution. Applications may be forwarded to the State Public information officer (SPIO), Prasannadeb Women’s College or handed over to him. All information about the college is open for public scrutiny and it can be gathered by citizens of India.

Over the years, many RTI applications have been disposed of satisfactorily.

However, at present, couples of applications are pending to be finally disposed of in view of the time constraint due to preparation for NAAC accreditation and understaffed office of the College.
